A world exclusive: Alfred Machaczek’s books on Austrian coachbuilders

CEautoclassic is proud to present several books, compiled by Alfred Machaczek focusing on the history of Austrian coachbuilders.

Alfred Machaczek was born in 1925. From 1952 to 1956 he worked as a “Werkmeister” at Karl Scheiner&Söhne, a coachbuilder in Vienna. From 1956 to 1984 he was the workshop leader of the company, Ing. Otto Schreiner & Auguste Blaha.
Over the years he amassed a fantastic collection of period documents, correspondence, photos, newspaper clippings etc. not just on these two companies, but on many other Austrian coachbuilders as well.

Through dr. Helge Hauk, secretary of the Austrian Bugatti Club we had the privilege of getting acquinted with the life and works of Alfred Machaczek. We also spoke to the author himself, who generously agreed to scan and distribute some of the works he put together.

You can download four of his books in PDF format after a quick registration. The books have been scanned but the pages are images at the moment.
