Invitation to 2nd Balatonfüred Concours d’Elegance

The 2nd Balatonfüred Concours d’Elegance will take place in Balatonfüred on the shores of the picturesque Balaton Lake between 15-17 May, 2015 as part of the traditional Sail Unfurling Ceremony. Members of the political and economic elite, celebrities and lovers of the Balaton Lake will converge to the city.
This event provides the perfect backdrop for a historic vehicle event, where collectors and fans can meet.

The event will feature three categories: the oldtimer category is open for passenger, sports and racing cars manufactured before 1985, while the youngtimer category is open for post-1995 cars. This year’s event will also feature a microcar category, where selected entrants will participate.

For participating vehicles we don’t require FIVA or MAVAMSZ certifications or an MoT. During the tour, which is part of the event, a special pass will be provided so cars without number plates can also participate. We don’t require self-owned vehicles. It is up to the applicant to come with a clean title.

Participating vehicles can not feature any kinds of advertisements or signs, beside the factory-fitted insignia. However racing cars can feature period ads. Participating restoration companies can introduce themselves on the info tables shown next to the cars.

PROCESS
Organisers reserve the right to select participating vehicles. Email notes will be sent to applicants, who are selected to participate.

Participants then need to sign an Agreement and pay the participation fee.

The event is limited to 35 cars

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Application: 25 April, 2015

Signing the agreement and paying the fee: 30 April, 2015

FEES
Participating fee is EUR 170 per car. The fee includes storage of the car in a secure garage, guarding the car during the event, and professional cleaning services. The fee also includes welcome drink for two, access to the VIP Lounge during the event and a gala dinner.

Additional people can participate for a fee of EUR 40.

JURY, PRIZES
The jury will be consisting of five people, who will vote for the prizes. Members of the jury will include two motoring professionals (mechanical expert and historian), while the other three will focus on the aesthetics of the vehicles (artists and art experts). While aesthetics are of vital importance, the jury will also focus on originality and the level and quality of restoration.

Participants will be able to vote for the Prize of Participation. Every participant will be able to vote for three cars – except for their own cars. The committee will check every vote. There will be a Prize voted for by the visitors and our sponsors will also offer Special Prizes.

We really aim to create a high spirited, elegant event for our participants and visitors.
